Bloomberg reports that Wix, the leading SaaS platform for website design and build, is planning an IPO in New York and has appointed JP Morgan to advise. Sources have indicated that the company is planning to raise $75m to fund further global expansion.
Wix was started in 2006 and has managed to build a client base of approximately 27m SME customers across the world. Members of the D5 Capital investor club supported the seed round in 2006 since when the company has taken in investment from Mangrove, Bessemer, Benchmark, Insight and DAG. As well as running one of the most successful website platforms in the world, Wix has also introduced WixMobile, WixPages and the Wix App Market. The platform operates in eight languages.
